I was born and raised in New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment. Spending my childhood in Santa Fe cultivated my passion for creative processes and design. I later studied Architecture at the University of New Mexico, which allowed my appreciation for design to manifest into a functional practice. Read Video Transcription
After school I worked for 12 years as a finish carpenter, which allowed me to hone my skills as a craftsmen. Drawing inspiration from the colorful landscape of my home state, my Father’s influence in woodworking, my Mom’s inherent craftiness and my architectural and construction background, I have consolidated these influences into contemporary lifestyle accessories. Each piece is thoughtfully handcrafted making every item a one of a kind. I am inspired daily and use those inspirations to constantly evolve my designs and design process. Though my work eventually fits into “collections” of like material, I choose not to constrain myself to releasing work as a “collection”. Rather, I make and release new work as it comes, like a stream of consciousness.
