Lisa Lashley is avid snowboarder and bagpiper — and enjoys snowboarding while bagpiping ! More about Lisa Lashley: I started snowboarding and bagpiping in the same year, 1997. Within five years on the snowboard, I was racing in Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Boardercross competitions at both the state and national levels. Regarding the pipes, I joined The Order of The Thistle Pipes and Drums, Santa Fe’s only Scottish pipe band, in 1998. I have performed at many events here in Santa Fe, and also in New York, Nova Scotia, and Scotland. Since 2010, I have been Pipe Major (leader) of the band. In 2007, my daughter and her friends, on a lark, videotaped me playing the bagpipes while snowboarding and posted it on Youtube. I have continued to do this every year since, either on National Tartan Day (April 6) or Closing Day at Ski Santa Fe. It has become a fun tradition for the end of the ski season. I plan to continue the tradition as long as I am able. Chairlift friend: Ray A. Valdez AKA.
